“We made a pork hamburger using the Vidalia onion five ways, sweet potato buns with Vidalia onion seeds for a garnish on the bun. A salad with a little bit of truffle oil, a sundried tomato ketchup and took the blossoms from the onions and we turned them into fries to go with it. We had a lot of fun doing it they are such great onions. It was a beautiful weekend in Vidalia and we were just fortunate to be able to come and enjoy ourselves.” Larkworthy said.

“We had a great time and turnout at this year’s competition. The crowd was awesome and people won some great food. The chefs were really creative in what they made. They bring all their ingredients fresh and they have an hour to prepare the dish and turn it in.  Some chefs finish in a couple of minutes and some finish in the last second making it always exciting.” Ingrid Varn director of the Golden Onion said.
