Toombs Co Secures Playoff Spot With Win Over Vidalia

It was a good senior night for the Toombs Co Bulldogs Wednesday at Jacky Jones Field in Lyons. The Bulldogs defeated the Vidalia Indians 7-5 to secure a spot in the GHSA state playoffs. Toombs Co came back from being down 3-0 by scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning and taking the lead 4-3. Toombs Co added a run in the bottom of the 4th and two runs in the bottom of the 5th  with Vidalia scoring one in the top of the 5th and 6th innings. Senior James Ethredge started the game on the mound and senior Jeremy Beasley closed it out for the big region win for the Bulldogs. 

Toombs Co will close out the regular season on the road against Jeff Davis Thursday and Bacon Co Friday.

Vidalia will not make the playoffs and will close the year out at home for senior night Friday against Metter at 5:45pm.
