Saturday, 19 April 2014

April 19--  If you're a registered voter in Toombs County, chances are good where you vote has been changed to another location.  The county has reduced the number of voting locations from 14 to five and the changes will take effect for the May 20 primary election.  It will impact about 9,000 voters.

The five remaining voting precints are the STC Adult Literacy building on Brinson Road in Vidalia, the new Vidalia Municipal Annex downtown, the Octagon building at Partin Park in Lyons, New Branch and Cedar Crossing.

Voters who formerly voted in Ohoopee and Blue Ridge will vote at Partin Park, Normantown precinct voters will vote at the Brinson Road location, the Marvin community voters will vote at New Branch and those who voted at STC on Highway 280 will vote at the Vidalia Municipal Annex.

The remaining four precincts had to be broken up and voters who voted at the Old Health Department on Morris Street in Vidalia, Harden's Chapel, Santa Claus and Center, as well as all others, will be mailed a precinct card from the Elections Office before election day.
