Mason Beacham, a 4th grader at Vidalia Heritage Academy, won the State Championship in the Fourth Grade Division at the NASP Georgia State Tournament held in Perry, Georgia. The National Archery in Schools Program is sponsored by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources and has become one of the fastest growing and safest youth sports programs in the United States.

Mason and the Heritage Elementary Archery Team had won the Region 5 title and qualified to compete against other elementary schools from throughout the state in this first year of archery at VHA.

The team finished 13th but Beacham shot a 272 (out of possible 300) which placed him first among all fourth graders and 5th overall in the Georgia Elementary Division. This score qualifies Mason to compete in the National NASP Tournament which will be held on May 10, in Louisville, Kentucky. Mason is the son of Shae and Marty Beacham of Laurens County.
