Two Hurt in Saturday Shooting
Monday, 07 April 2014

April 7--  Two people were shot Saturday night in Vidalia.

According to Vidalia police, the shooting happened at the home of Sanquinton Brown at 610 Fifth Avenue.  Both Brown and 21-year-old Nygeria Green were shot and treated at Meadows Regional Medical Center.

Police report the two were "boy and girlfriend." The woman said she did not know who shot her.  She was found laying nude on the floor near the front door of the house with a abdominal wound.  A trail of blood led to a rear bedroom where she told police she had been shot while in bed.  Two shell casings from an automatic handgun were found on the floor near the woman in the living room.

The man was not in the house when police arrived.  They later learned he was already at the hospital emergency room.

No arrests have been made and police are continuing their investigation.
