17th Annual VHS Indian Invitational Golf Tournament Results

April 6—The 17th Annual VHS Indian Invitational Golf Tournament was held this past Friday and Saturday at Hawk’s Point and Rocky Creek in Vidalia. Thirty-one boys teams and twelve girls teams from the southeast competed in the tournament.

The VHS Lady Indians won first place in the two-day tournament in which three scores were counted from each day with a team score of 481. Tift Co was second with a team score of 496. 

The Lady Indians also won the one-day shootout Saturday that combined the lowest two scores on each team with Katie Dalton (76) and Layne Carter (77) combining for a 153 total. Wesleyan was second with a score of 158.

Both Katie Dalton (148) and Layne Carter (151) made the four-person All-Tournament Team along with Alissa Yang (149) from Wesleyan and Anna Grevelius (154) from Darlington.

The Colquitt Co Packers Golf team from Moultrie won first place in the boy’s tournament with a team score of 594. Hilton Head Christian was second with a 599 total and last year’s winning team Westminster was third with a 608 total. 

 Senior Eli Stripling from Colquitt Co was the low medalist with scores 70-66 for a two-day total of 136. 

The VHS Indians came in 22nd place.
