Congressman Barrow Votes For Stimulus Package
Thursday, 19 February 2009
February 19-- Twelfth District Congressman John Barrow voted last week for the federal government's nearly $800 Billion economic stimulus package.  The congressman released the following statement on his vote.

“The legislation we voted on last week is good for business, good for the economy, and good for folks in Georgia’s 12th District. It’s also the result of compromise, which is something we don't do enough of in Washington. It may not make everyone happy, but that’s not what’s important. What’s important is what it does: it cuts taxes, invests in infrastructure, and gives Georgia the money we need to keep from having to fire teachers, firefighters, and cops. The best estimates are that this legislation will create over 100,000 jobs in Georgia and over 8,000 jobs in the 12th District, and jobs are what we need right now.”
