Morris Bill Clears Senate Committee
Tuesday, 11 March 2014

March 11--  A bill proposed by State Representative Greg Morris of Vidalia has made it out of a Senate committee.

Representative Morris believes food stamp recipients suspected of drug abuse should submit to a drug test.

The bill cleared the Senate's Health and Human Services Committee on a 5-4 vote.

A similar law in Florida has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal appeals court, however, Morris claims his bill tries to avoid measures which the court believes are unconstitional.
