Mrs. Millie McDonald, Kibbee

March 10-- Mrs. Millie Campbell McDonald, age 87, of the Kibbee Community, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the Bethany Nursing Center. 

She was born in Ben Hill County, as a child moved to Dodge County, from there to Toombs County, and has resided in the Kibbee Community since 1944 and that year graduated from Vidalia High School.  Her first job was working in a dental office with Dr. Whipple.  She worked at Palmetto Box Factory, and last worked at Winn Dixie. 

She was a farmer’s wife, was a longtime member of the Ruth’s Chapel United Methodist Church, and the VFW Auxiliary.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldrid McDonald; two stillborn sons, Charles and Rusty McDonald; parents, John and Lula Yancey Campbell; two brothers, William Perry Campbell and Elmer Campbell; and a sister, Macy Sharpe.

Mrs. McDonald is survived by one daughter, Sue Lamb and husband Ronnie of Kibbee; two grandchildren, Chad Lamb and wife Jannie of Eastman, and Mindy Dismuke and husband Dana of Vidalia; four great-grandchildren, Luke and Will Lamb, and Marly and Morgan Dismuke; one sister, Ann Puryear of Lyons; one brother, Clifford Campbell and wife Linda of Milledgeville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Lee officiating.  Burial will follow in the McDonald Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

The family will assemble at the residence of a granddaughter, Mindy Dismuke, 609 Homestead Road in Vidalia.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
