2014 Miss Vidalia Onion Pageant

Over forty contestants took part in the 37th annual Vidalia Onion Festival Beauty Pageant Saturday at Southeastern Technical College in Vidalia.

Madison Lynn is the 2014 Miss Vidalia Onion. Madison is an 18-year-old senior at Toombs Co High School and the daughter of Shawn and Heather Lynn of Lyons.

“ It just means the world to me to be the 2014 Miss Vidalia Onion. I am so excited and I am ready to go out there and be a positive influence for our community.” Lynn said.

The Junior Miss Vidalia Onion is Bentley Wright a freshman at Vidalia High School and the 15-year-old daughter of Sandon and Missy Wright of Vidalia.

This year’s Little Miss Onion Seed is Kamrin Grace Clark. Little Miss Onion Sprout is Jaycie Elizabeth Willett, and Little Miss Spring Onion is Madison Toole, the 11-year-old daughter of Robert and Ann-Michele Toole of Vidalia.

The Miss Vidalia Onion pageant has been sponsored for the last 37 years by the Vidalia Charter Chapter, the American Business Women’s Association, headed by President Becky Gillis.

“ We do the pageant for the young ladies in the community because it helps them with a start, a stepping stone for them to become great business women one day. The Miss Vidalia Onion receives a $1000 grant to help them with their education.” Stewart stated.
