VHA Student Wins Spelling Bee

March 2--  A student from Vidalia Heritage Academy won the regional Spelling Bee last week hosted by VHA and conducted by the Association of Christian Schools International.

ImageSeventh-grader Katie Dawson came in first as the overall champion and displays her award with Headmaster Jeff McCormick and Middle School Spelling Teacher Toni Banks.

Competing against schools from as far away as Decatur, Elliott Sammons finished second and Grace Mixon came in fourth.  The trio will take part in the Southeast Regional Spelling Bee March 22nd in Atlanta.

In grade level competition, 5th grader Jacob Thompson came in first and Julia Catron was fourth.  Among sixth graders, Grace Mixon came in first and Briley Braddy was second.
