Mrs. Hiwatha Williford Allen- Vidalia

February 27---Mrs. Hiwatha Williford Allen, age 68, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, February 26, 2014 in Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons after an extended illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Toombs County and retired from Northland Cable in Vidalia after several years.  She was a member of the North Thompson Baptist Church; where she sang, and played the piano and organ.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Allen; parents, R.F. and Miriam Moore Williford; three sisters, Pauline, Lillian, and Margaret; and five brothers, Marvin, Wallace, Bobby, Donald and an infant brother Fred.

Mrs. Allen is survived by two daughters, Reia A. Hattaway, and Carmen A. Spikes and husband Chris of Vidalia; two brothers, Windell Williford and wife Elizabeth of Perry and Jack Williford and wife Josie of Morganton; six grandchildren, Justin, Todd, and Sydnie Hattaway, and Landon, Jenna, and Jessica Spikes; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell Allen and wife Betty of Vidalia, Jo A. Langley and husband John of Edgefield, South Carolina, Jimmy V. Allen and wife Linda of Augusta, Cathy A. Beasley and husband David of Vidalia, Larry G. Allen and wife Elaine of Lyons, Harry L. Allen and wife Debbie of Arizona, Berrie L. Allen and wife Sandy of Ailey, Dana “Butch” Allen and wife Sandra of Alston, Donna J. Howayeck and husband Allen of Tupelo, Mississippi, Lana A. Finch of Mt. Vernon and Sharon A. Lumley of Vidalia and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 1st at 11:00 am in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend Glenn Waters officiating.  Burial will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of arrangements.
