New Vidalia Fire Chief

February 23--  A veteran Vidalia fireman is the city's new Fire Chief.

ImageAssistant Fire Chief Brian Sikes applied for the job to succeed Chief Buddy Coleman who retired after 35 years with the department. He's been a city employee for 22 years, 20 of which have been with the fire department, according to Vidalia City Manager Bill Torrance.

Sikes served as the interim Chief following Coleman's departure and was selected by the Vidalia City Council for the Chief's job last week.
