Indians Move On In State Playoffs

The Vidalia Indians defeated the Macon Co Bulldogs 97-30 Friday night at the H. Ralph Parsons Gym in the first round of the GHSA Class AA state playoffs.

The Indians led 29-7 after the first quarter, 61-17 at the half and 74-27 after the third quarter. Vidalia had four players in double figures Alton McLeod with 17 points, Ramel Thompkins with 14 points, Jordan Black and Malik Mincey with 11 points.

The Indians are 28-0 for the year and will move on to the second round Tuesday night at home at 6:00pm against Westside-Augusta.

The VHS Lady Indians came from behind to beat the Bleckley Co Lady Royals 75-60.

The Lady Indians fell behind early and trailed 16-13 after the first quarter and 36-33 at the half. Vidalia outscored Bleckley Co 42-14 in the second half.

Four players in double figures for the Lady Indians Chynna Hodge had 29 points, Chambria Harrison and Trinity Hamm had 13 points, Kourtney Owens with 12 points.

Vidalia moves on to the "sweet sixteen" round at home Monday night at 6:00pm against the Dublin Lady Irish who defeated Cook Co Friday night 57-53.

Advance tickets will be on sale at Vidalia High School for $7:00 each day of game from 10:00am until 2:00pm.
