Career Academy Charter "On Track"
Tuesday, 17 February 2009

February 17--  The state Board of Education is expected to make a decision in March on the charter for the Southeastern Early College and Career Academy in Vidalia.

Last Fall the state approved a $3.1 million grant to provide facilties for the school which will serve students in four area school systems:  Vidalia, Toombs, Montgomery and Treutlen.

Local officials think the regional nature of the school gives it a better chance of approval.  Assuming charter approval next month, the career academy could begin offering classes next school term on the campus of Southeastern Tech in Vidalia.
