Mrs. Rudy Edward Morris- Vidalia

February 14---Mrs. Rudy Edward Morris, 85, went to be with her Lord and Savior Thursday, February 13th 2014 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.  Mrs. Morris was born in Bullard, Georgia. She worked for the telephone company in Macon for several years.  She and her brother Jack sang on several radio stations; including WMAZ in Macon.  She married Howard G. Morris from Lyons, Georgia.  They moved to Vidalia, where she has since resided.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia.  She most recently made many comments on her wonderful friends and caregivers at Summers Landing.  She had lived there for the last couple of years and stated that she was happy living there and never felt lonely. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Green Morris and her brother, Jack Edwards.

Mrs. Morris is survived by her two sons, Jimmy Morris and wife Dwilene of Vidalia and Johnny Ray Morris and wife Susan of Ringgold; three grandchildren, Don Morris, Leah Morris Owen and husband Matt of Vidalia, and Matthew Morris and wife Betty of Ringgold; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 15th at 1:30 pm in the Pinecrest Cemetery with Reverend Bill Vansant officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 2277 Vidalia, Georgia 30475.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
