The 1988-89 RTCA State Champion Boys Basketball team was honored Friday night at half time of the Boys game for the 25th anniversary of the school’s first ever State Championship in boys basketball. Many team members and cheerleaders were in attendance where a banner was unveiled and hung in the gym in the teams honor. The Crusaders defeated Citizens Christian Academy 70-63 to win the title. Bill Benton was the head coach of the team.

“ It is good to be back and see nine of the twelve guys on the team tonight. I was a young coach back them and this team taught me something about coaching. We had a talented team and we had 10-10 record at one point during the season and the guys decided to sellout and play together as a team and that is when we put it and won a State Championship.” Coach Bill Benton said.
