Job Woes Spark School Enrollment
Monday, 16 February 2009

February 16--  People who are out of work are using Georgia's technical colleges to get new job skills.

The Technical College System of Georgia says its 33 colleges have increased enrollment by 9.4% over the same time last year.  In the local area, Southeastern Technical College reports enrollment has increased by 10.1% over last Winter Quarter.  Most of the growth was among people ages 21 to 35.

STC President Dr. Cathy Mitchell believes the college is a quick and economically feasible way for job seekers to get the skills needed for a good job.
