February 16--  Despite a rainy start Saturday morning, which doused plans for the Homecoming Parade through Mount Vernon, the Brewton-Parker College Homecoming festivities on Valentine’s Day 2009 were still sweet for the Barons.

BPC’s new Homecoming King and Queen were crowned in a special ceremony between the women’s and men’s basketball games against Lee University in Gillis Gymnasium. This year’s Homecoming King and Queen are Bernard Irvin and Emma Franklin.

Class Favorites are as follows: seniors Ashley Byrd and Bernd Torres-Toro II, juniors Stephanie Huff and Brian Winter, sophomores Kayla Oliver and E’Quain Rhodes, freshmen Shenilla Mentore and Diego Prince.

The Homecoming Court also included seniors Chelsea Milroy, Sam Carter, Jessica Groover and Joshua Davis; juniors Courtney Parker, Cody Henderson, Jonathan Brown and Jennifer Adams; sophomores Megan Jackson, Dustin Jeffords and Victoria Frazier; and, freshmen Shalayna Hatched, Sedric Hall, JaLeeda Floyd and Ronnie Lewis.

The court was accompanied by 2008 Homecoming King and Queen Mark Caruso and Emily Oliver.
