Mrs. Sandra Clark Collins- Lyons

February 3---Mrs. Sandra Clark Collins, age 72, of Lyons, died Sunday, February 2, 2014 in the Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after a sudden illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Lyons and retired after thirty years as the branch manager at Vidalia Federal in Lyons.  She was a life-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Lyons and was a member of theJohn Durst Sunday School Class where she taught the class for many years.  She served in several positions within the church; including the administrative board, finance chairman, and treasurer.  She was a founding member and supporter of Robert Toombs Christian Academy.  She was preceded in death by her parents, D.T. and Juseah Calhoun Clark; and two brothers, Gilbert Clark and Larry Jarrell. 

Mrs. Collins is survived by her husband, Collie Collins of Lyons; two daughters, Nancy Collins Mixon and husband Mike of Clarkesville and Paula Collins of Savannah; two grandchildren, Erica Mixon Turner and husband Jesse of Cleveland, Georgia and Clark Mixon of Clarkesville; two great-grandchildren, Ethen Turner and Noah Turner of Cleveland; and one niece, Ellen Hart of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 5th at 11:00 am in the First United Methodist Church of Lyons with Reverend Ben Martin and Reverend Barry Giddens officiating.  Burial will follow in the Lyons City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
