January 31--The #2 ranked VHS Indians defeated the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets 63-48 in Hazlehurst Friday night. The Indians played the game without three starters in the lineup. Vidalia led 22-11 after the 1st quarter, 38-24 at the half and 55-41 after the 3rd. Malik Mincey scored 12 points and Will Chamblis had 11 points in the win. Vidalia is 23-0 and the #1 seed in the sub-region.

The #10 ranked VHS Lady Indians held on and beat the Jeff Davis Lady Yellow Jackets 49-48. Jeff Davis led 8-5 after the 1st period but the Lady Indians came back in the 2nd period and led 23-21 at halftime. The game was tied 31-31 after the 3rd period. The Lady Indians held on for the win with the help of freshman Regan Norfleet making 7 of 7 free throws and scoring 15 points. Senior Kourtney Owens added 10 points. Vidalia is 18-5 and 15-0 in the region and the #1 seed in the sub-region.

The Toombs Co Bulldogs won their second game of the year by beating the Montgomery Co Eagles 78-68 in Lyons. The Montgomery Co Lady Eagles defeated the Toombs Co Lady Bulldogs 28-23.

In Class A the Treutlen Vikings swept the Wheeler Co Bulldogs in Alamo. The Vikings winning by 14 points 86-72. Treutlen improves to 15-1 for the year. The Lady Vikings won their game over the Lady Bulldogs 61-49.

In the GISA the RTCA Crusaders lost both of their games on the road against Curtis Baptist. The Crusaders losing 87-56 and the Lady Crusaders losing by 9 points 46-37.
