January 24--Image The Vidalia Indians swept the McIntosh Co Academy Bucs on Senior Night at the H Ralph Parsons Gym Friday night. Eight seniors on the boys team and two on the girls were recognized between games. The #2 Ranked VHS Indians winning 74-52. The Indians led 28-11 at the end of the 1st period, 48-26 at the half and 70-39 after the 3rd. Vidalia had three players in double figures Alton McLeod with 25 points, Malik Mincey with 13 points and Dashon Holloway with 10 points. The Indians are 21-0 for the year and 13-0 in the region.

The VHS Lady Indians defeated the McIntosh Co Lady Bucs 69-61. The Lady Indians and Lady Bucs were tied at the end of the 1st period with Vidalia leading by 3 points at halftime 31-28 and 43-40 after the 3rd. Chynna Hodge led the way with 26 points, Chambria Harrison had 12 points and Trinity Hamm with 10 points. The Lady Indians are 16-5 overall and undefeated in the region.

Coach Chunk Reid was honored before the big home crowd for winning 800 games in his coaching career. Former players and family attended the activities and were at mid-court when VHS principal John Sharpe announced that the court at VHS be pro-clamed forever as "Chunk's Court." 

The Toombs Co Bulldogs split their games at home with the Long Co Blue Tide. The Lady Bulldogs winning 41-30. Megan Meadows scored 14 points in the win. The Toombs Co Boys losing to the Long Co Boys 78-71.

The Montgomery Co Eagles split with the Johnson Co Trojans in Mt Vernon. The Lady Eagles winning 47-38 and the Montgomery Co Boys losing by one point 51-50.

In the GISA the RTCA Crusaders swept a pair of games over Twiggs Academy at home with the Crusaders winning 67-52. The Lady Crusaders won their game 47-21. Sydni Collins scored 14 points and Natalie Alexander had 13 points in the win. Both teams are 3-0 in region games.
