Mr. Larry L. Curl- Vidalia

January 24---Mr. Larry L. Curl, age 71, of Vidalia, died Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Treutlen Health and Rehabilitation in Soperton after a brief illness.  He was born in Stillmore, a 1961 graduate of the Vidalia High School, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and lived in Vidalia most of his life.  After thirty-three years, he retired from Norfolk Southern Railroad and for eight years, worked for Wal-Mart, in the garden center.  He was a member of the Smith Street Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by his parents, Remer and Vaughn L. Meeks Curl; sister, Tommie Jean Smith; and two brothers, Royce Curl and Bobby Curl.  He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and his dogs, “Mac”, “Buddy”, “Chloe” and Bear Curl, and Harley and Davidson Seidel.

Mr. Curl is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Jo Ann Dean Curl of Vidalia; daughter, Debra Curl-Seidel of Vidalia; son, Larry D. Curl and wife Marci of Glenwood; one grandson, Ledger Curl of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 25th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Rutherford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Waters Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia GA 30475.
