Mrs. Lois Wade Godbee- Vidalia

January 15---Mrs. Lois Wade Godbee, age 86, of Vidalia, died Sunday, January 12, 2014 in the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon after a sudden illness.  Born in Ripley, Mississippi, she grew up in Mobile, Alabama, and moved to Vidalia in 1952.  She retired from Edwin I. Hatch Plant in 1992 and was Methodist by faith.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Mansel and May Booker Wade; and four siblings, Blanche Levens, James Wade, Bill Wade and “Bo” Wade.

Mrs. Godbee is survived by three children, Ronald A. Jackson and wife Linda M. of Franklin, North Carolina, Lucky Wade Jackson and wife Connie B. of Milledgeville, and Janie Godbee McGregor and husband Danny of Clarksville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including Tommy Guerin of Spring, Texas.

The graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, January 16th at 3:00 pm in the Northview Cemetery in Dublin with Reverend Robert Greene officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 until 7:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 150, Vidalia GA 30475 or the Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 210, Vidalia GA 30475.

Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
