Mr. Kenny Clements, Uvalda

January 7-- Mr. Kenny “Slap” Clements, age 80, of Uvalda, died Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness. 

He was a native of Cedar Crossing, moved to Lake County, Florida in the early 1950’s and moved to Uvalda in 1974.  He retired as the road superintendent for the Montgomery County Road Department after many years.  He was Baptist by faith and was an avid fisherman and golfer. 

He was preceded in death by a son, Timmy Clements; granddaughter, Angela Hart Foskey; parents, James “Cigar” Clements and Mildred Rollins Clements; sister, Grace Gray; and a son-in-law, Ricky Claxton. 

Mr. Clements is survived by his wife of sixty years, Madeline L. Clements of Uvalda; four daughters, Debbie Chancey and husband “Kayo” of Palatka, Florida, Sharon Brown, Darlene Foskey and husband Hal, and Ginger Claxton all of Uvalda; one brother, Esten Clements of Lyons; twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 9th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Reece Mincey officiating.  Burial will follow in the Uvalda City Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
