Concerned Citizens Essay Contest

December 31-- The members of the Concerned Citizens’ Coalition of Vidalia are sponsoring a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday essay contest for students in grades 9 – 12 and grades 6 – 8. The essay topic is “I Am the Dream.” 

The essays must be between 500 and 600 words in length for students in grades 9 – 12 and between 200 and 300 words in length for students in grades   6 – 8. 

Monetary awards will be presented for the winners in both groups: first place ($50); second place ($30); and third place ($20). 

The presentations will be made at the National Holiday Program that will be held at Saint Paul A.M.E. Church on January 19, 2014 at 6:00 P.M.  The church is located at 304 Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., Vidalia, GA.  The first place winners will also be expected to read their essays at the program.

Call Miss Carol A. Hansley at 537-9201 or see any CCC member for an application.  The deadline to return all applications to Miss Carol A. Hansley is Monday, January 13, 2014.

Mr. John Raymond Turner is the Chairman of the Concerned Citizens’ Coalition.
