Christmas Cheer
Monday, 16 December 2013

December 16--  Since 1971, Toombs United Charities has provided food, blankets and other necessities to those less fortunate in the county at Christmas.

ImageDistribution this year was made last Thursday at the former Oxford building next to Vidalia High School.  Young men from the Paul Anderson Youth Home helped load some 600 boxes of food in recipient's vehicles while cheerleaders from Vidalia High School checked off names.

Toombs United Charity Treasurer Keith Dawson says they work with the local Department of Family and Children's Services and the Toombs County Senior Citizens Center to identify people who need help.

The organization receives funding support from the United Way of Toombs, Montgomery and Wheeler counties and donations from BiLo, Walmart and individual contributors.
