Former Local Coach In State Championship
Thursday, 12 December 2013

December 12—Former Toombs Co Coach Mark Stroud now the Head Coach of the Calvary Day Cavaliers in Savannh will play for the GHSA Class A Private State Football Championship this Friday at 2:30pm at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. The Cavaliers (11-2) will face Aquinas of Augusta (13-0) for the title.

“ We are excited about the opportunity to play in the championship game. We certainly want to win the game, but the journey to get there is more exciting. The most important thing is all of the things that have happened between day one and the last day.” Coach Stroud said.

Calvary Day defeated Eagles Landing in a very exciting game 35-34 in overtime last week to play in the state final.

“ We are a very well balanced team on offense. We have averaged 240 yards passing and 200 yards running the ball. Defensively we have tried to be a really sound technical team, that is what we believe in.” Stroud said.

You can hear the game on Sweet Onion Country WYUM, 101.7 FM.
