Mrs. Myrtice Horton, Soperton

November 28-- Miss Myrtice Horton, age 90 of Soperton died Wednesday, November 27, 2013.

Miss Horton, affectionately known as “Aunt Myrt”, was born in Treutlen County and was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Andrew and Lula Powell Horton. She lived a portion of her life in Houston, TX before returning to Soperton in 1970. She retired from AT&T after 34 ½ years of service. She also served on the American Cancer Society for many years, and was a member of the Soperton Church of God.

She loved people and loved life as she spent many hours visiting the elderly in homes and nursing homes. Her mission in life was caring for others.

Survivors include nieces and nephews, Philip Morris, Bobby Morris, Jackie Willis, Vickie Underwood, Andy Horton, Lewis Horton, Samuel Horton, Linda Smith, Jean O’Conner, Shirley Neathawk, and Roger Lockerby; and a host of great nieces and great nephews

Services will be held in the Chapel of Sammons Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 30. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Treutlen County.

A visitation will be held at the funeral home Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.

The family may be reached at the home of James and Jackie Willis, 6591 Highway 15, Soperton.
