Big Thanksgiving Planned at God's Storehouse
Monday, 25 November 2013

November 25--  More than 1,500 needy citizens will enjoy a good Thanksgiving meal Wednesday at God's Storehouse in Vidalia.

ImageDirector Tina Houser says the support the Storehouse has received this year for the meal is a blessing.

"I would like to thank all the high schools, middle schools and elementary schools and all the local churches and businesses and individuals who have help us this year.  And of course all the people who came in and helped us down at the Storehouse with cooking including Denise Parsons and Mindy Moore.  I just really appreciate all they did, it's such a blessing," she said.

Some businesses like McLain, Calhoun, McCullough, Clark & Co., P.C. in Vidalia support the effort as part of a Thanksgiving community outreach project.  The accounting firm's employees contributed a car full of food to this year's meal including 33 pounds of sausage, 75 boxes of Jiffy corn mix, 4 boxes of corn starch, 41 cans of cranberry sauce,  4 bottles of pumpkin spice, 2 bottles of nutmeg, 67 cans of milk, 13 bags of coconut and 30 dozen eggs. Image
