Mrs. Myrtle Randall Cox- Alston

November 18---Mrs. Myrtle Randall Cox passed away on November 16, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with cancer at home surrounded by her family.   She was a gentle soul who loved her family, the ocean and her beloved pet, Heidi.  She was born in Cuthbert, Georgia on July 23, 1935 and lived most of her adult life in Savannah, Georgia.  Mrs. Cox had a long and fulfilling career in nursing and worked at Memorial Health University and Urology Associates of Savannah.  Mrs. Cox retired after 32 years of nursing and moved to the country with the love of her life, husband, Louis.  Together, they built their retirement home and pursued their love of gardening.  She was devoted to the Lord and loved her church family.

Mrs. Cox joins her grandson, Paul, in heaven and leaves behind:  husband, Louis E. Cox; daughters, Sunni (Barry) Brown, Mickey (Lynn) Boyles; and Randi (Steven) Bryan.  Grandchildren; Brandon Brown, Jason (Mandy) Boyles, Lauren (Norman) Brown-Smart, Jeffrey (Christy) Boyles, and Aaron (Leigh Elizabeth) Bryan in addition to eight great grandchildren. 

The funeral service will be held at Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home in Vidalia at 11:00 am Wednesday with Reverend Bill Vansant officiating, followed by graveside services at 3:00 pm in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah with Reverend Hank Perry officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00 until just prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Tybee Island Marine Science Center in Tybee Island, Georgia or Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society (SOAPS), P.O. Box 210, Vidalia, Georgia 30475. . . .” Smell the sea and feel the sky, let your soul and spirit fly”.
