Nov 8th---ImageThe Vidalia Indians got 2 defensive scores and Dashon Holloway, Tra Hardy and Blake Corbitt all added a score each as the Indians rolled over the Jeff Davis Yellow Jackets 35-6 Friday night at Buck Cravey Field.

The Indians defense got the scoring started on the Yellow Jackets first series when Zuquan Gaffney picked up a fumble on the 10 yard line and sprinted for pay dirt to make it 7-0 Indians just 3 minutes into the game. The Indians would get another turnover on the Jackets next possession on a interception by Jordan Black but couldn’t produce any points and had to punt the ball away.

But the Indians cashed in on the Jackets next drive when Juwan Miller intercepted a tipped pass and went in from 23 yards out for the score to make it 14-0 with 5:53 to go in the first quarter.

The Indians first offensive score came on the 2nd play of the 2nd quarter when DJ Mincey connected with Tra Hardy on a 54 yard screen pass who picked up key blocks from Daniel Copeland and Samuel Collins which helped spring him into the end zone to make it 21-0 Indians with 11:41 left in the half.

The Indians next score came after the defense held the Jackets to a 3 and out when Dashon Holloway scored on the 3rd play of the series, from 22 yards to make it 28-0 Vidalia with 8:28 to go in the half. That would be all the scoring in the half despite the Indians driving to the Jeff Davis 20 yard line before throwing an interception at the 1 with 6 sec to go in the qtr.

The Indians only score in the 2nd half came on their first possession of the half when they took it 60 yards in 7 plays in just 3 minutes to make it 35-0 on a Blake Corbitt 6 yard run.

Jeff Davis would add a score in the 4th quarter on a scoring pass from 12 yards out to make the final score Vidalia 35 and Jeff Davis 6.

The Indians finish the regular season at 9-1 and 8-1 in Region 2AA and open the state play-offs on Friday at the Reservation against an opponent to be determined by a 3 team mini playoff between NE Macon, Macon Co. and Taylor Co. with the #3 seed coming to Vidalia for a 7:30 kick.
