Nov 1st---ImageTra Hardy rushed for 266 yards and 2 TD’s in the rain and the mud as the Vidalia Indians knocked off the Toombs County Bulldogs 22-7 Friday night in Lyons. The Indians racked up 321 total yards while the defense held the Bulldogs to just 134 yards as they moved to 8-1 overall and 7-1 in Region 2AA.

The Indians got the scoring started on their first possession of the night after holding Toombs and forcing a punt which drove the Indians back to their own 8 yard line. That’s when Tra Hardy on the first play took it 92 yards to put the Indians up 7-0.

Toombs would answer with a score of their own driving the ball 62 yards in 20 plays and taking 10:20 off the clock when Jamar Smith who was held to just 113 yards on 38 carries, scored from 3 yards out to tie the game at 7-7.

The Indians next score came two possessions later on a 1 yard DJ Mincey plunge following a 52 yard drive. The Indians couldn’t get the extra point off and the led 13-7 at the half.

In the 2nd half the Indians took control from the first possession of the half with Hardy scoring from 49 yards out on the 3rd play of the series. The 2 point conversion failed and the Indians led 19-7. The final score of the night came on a 29 yard Carlos Giron FG to make it 22-7.

It was the 5th win a row for the Vidalia Indians over their rivals and 10 out of the last 12. Up next for Vidalia is Jeff Davis on Friday night at the Reservation for Senior Night 2013. The Warpath is set to begin at 6:20 with kick-off scheduled for 7:30.
