Mrs. Hazel M. Hardee- Vidalia

October 28---Mrs. Hazel M. Hardee, age 89, of Vidalia, died Saturday, October 26, 2013 in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness.  She was a lifelong resident of Vidalia, a homemaker, and a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church of Vidalia.  She was a Pink Lady at Meadows Regional Medical Center for twenty-eight years, a volunteer with the American Red Cross Blood Services for many years, and was a former member of the Eastern Star in Vidalia.  She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, Talmadge Hardee in 2010; parents, Roscoe and Mae Holton McQueen; and four siblings, Joe McQueen, Johnny McQueen, Ray McQueen, and Anne McQueen Bryant.

Mrs. Hardee is survived by two daughters, Carol Hardee of Vidalia and Bonnie Scott and husband Thomas of Lyons; one son, David Hardee of Vidalia; five grandchildren, Melissa Cain and husband Clay of Lyons, Sonya Smith and husband Corkey of Las Vegas, Nevada, Wesley Hardee of Vidalia, David Hardee II and wife Meagan of Vidalia, and Lindsey Phillips and husband Jesse of Reidsville; ten great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 29th at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home with Reverend David Blalock officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
