VHS Indians Softball Team Wins Home Opener Over Metter

Sam Thompson Brings the Heat Against Metter

August 14—The VHS Indians Softball Team shutout the Metter Tigers 15-0 in 3 innings Tuesday to win the 2013 home opener and go 2-0 for the year. The Indians dominated the game early with 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning and 8 runs in the bottom of the 2nd inning led by a grand slam home run by Sommer Wiggs. The Indians added another run in the bottom of the 3rd for the win. Sam Thompson was the winning pitcher.

The Indians will play at Long Co Thursday at 5:00pm.

In other games the Toombs Co Lady Dogs picked up another win at McIntosh Co Academy winning 6-3. The Lady Dogs are now 2-0 and will host Dodge Co at home Wednesday at 6:00pm

The Treutlen Vikings picked up a win on the road Tuesday at Telfair Co in a scrimmage game 7-5. The Vikings start the season Thursday at home against Jenkins Co at 5:00pm.
