Lyons Police Jail Robbery Suspect

February 2--  Fast work by Lyons police nabbed a suspect in the Monday robbery  of a downtown loan company.

Police Chief Ricky Newsome reports 47-year-old Johnny Burley of Lyons is accused of stealing an estimated $4,000 from Toombs Finance on Northeast Broad Street between 8:30 and 9 a.m.  He says Burley was spotted a short time later in a nearby alley and arrested.

He's being charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.  Chief Newsome says police recovered the stolen money.
