Monday, 02 February 2009
February 2--  Former Constituent Service Representative for Congressman John Barrow (D-GA), Cynthia Reese, isthe new Director of Alumni Relations at Brewton Parker College. Image Reese, a 1990 BPC alum, is excited about her new role at the college, and since her arrival in mid-January, she’s already making some important updates to the college’s alumni department.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know other alums,” said Reese. “I am attending my first National Alumni Board meeting Feb. 28, and there, I will hear from the current board and introduce myself on behalf of the college. I am encouraging other alums interested in reconnecting with the college and making a difference at their alma mater to contact me directly.”

Reese previously served the 12th Congressional District under Barrow, specifically acting as a liaison between the congressman and the constituents of the western half of “Georgia 12” – nine-and-a half counties. Before joining Barrow’s office, she was a congressional aide to Congressman Jim Marshall, where she also served as grants coordinator. Between 1998 and 2003, Reese worked as a news editor of the Soperton News and as a reporter for the Montgomery Monitor and Wheeler County Eagle newspapers.

She and her husband, Ricky, reside in Soperton with their daughter Kate, whom they adopted from China when she was eight-and-a-half months old. Reese is a native of Emanuel County.
