RTCA Wins 2013 GISA Excellence Award
Tuesday, 23 July 2013

July 24—Robert Toombs Christian Academy won the 2013 GISA Class A Excellence Award in athletics. The award is based on a points system set by the GISA. Points are earned on how well you finished the past year in each sport compared to other schools in the state in Class A.

“ We have won this trophy before in 2006-2008, we are glad to be able to get back on track and win the award in 2013. All the credit goes to our coaches and kids. We did a great job this year starting with the beginning of the season with football ending up with the elite 8 in baseball. It is not just only the major sports but swimming, tennis and cross-country and other sports that we don’t have at the school. We were able to finish high in football, baseball, basketball and track that it put us in front of everyone else. To win this trophy after not having won it for 4 years is a big plus for Robert Toombs.” Athletic Director Hayne Brant said.

“Our guys have been working all summer for this. Each individual team wants to win their individual award thru the state. For an athletic department to be able to get a trophy like this means so much to Robert Toombs and the Toombs Co community.” Brant said.
