July 1st---Eight Vidalia Indian Football players recently attended the Bobby Lamb Quarterback and Receivers Camp at Mercer University in Macon. The camp according to Vidalia Offensive Coordinator Jeff Bowen helps quarterbacks and receivers with fundamentals and skills as they get ready for the upcoming season.

Bowen said the players got “plenty of reps at their position and received quality instruction from both high school and college coaches.”

“We had three players who also placed in the top ten in the competition part of the camp.” “D.J. (Mincey) finished in the top 9 in the quarterback competition out of the 75 to 100 quarterbacks that were there. And Blake Corbett in the 11th & 12th grade group of receivers, finished in the top 10, and Nate McBride who went as a QB, finished in the top 10 for receivers.”

Up next for the Indians is their annual 7 on 7 passing camp which will take place July 8th through the 11th at VHS. The Indians open up the 2013 season on August 23, when they play host to the West Laurens Raiders, with kick-off set for 7:30.
