Body Found in Toombs Co
Tuesday, 27 January 2009

January 27--  The body of a U.S. Navy sailor was found two weeks ago in a wooded area of Toombs County.  Chief Deputy Barry Brown reports the man's body was found in his truck on the property of the Hard Luck Hunt Club south of Ohoopee.  Two club members who had come to retrieve a deer stand saw the truck and discovered the body.

Deputy Brown says the state crime lab has confirmed the man killed himself with a pistol and that the death happened a couple of weeks before the body was discovered.  Officials say the sailor was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Jacksonsville.
