TCHS Baseball Team Season Ends
Thursday, 16 May 2013

May 16—The Toombs Co Bulldogs Baseball Team’s 2013 season came to an end Tuesday when the Bulldogs lost two games to Westminster in the quarterfinals of the state baseball playoffs. The Bulldogs still had a very good season with a 21-9 record.

“ The whole community is proud of what we were able to accomplish this year. A great big turn around from a 8-17 record last year to 21-9 this year is just a credit to the way the kids went to work and tried to handle their business. I am really proud of our kids.” Coach Brian Fitzgerald said.

“ We have five graduating seniors this year and were are certainly going to miss those guys. I appreciate the leadership that they brought to the team. We are going to try and keep this thing going, we have a bunch of guys coming up from the middle school next year and it looks like we are going to try and run a 3 team program with a varsity, junior varsity and 9th grade team. The numbers are picking up and we are looking forward to getting a new field built here in the near future. We are going to try and build on the success we had this season.” Fitzgerald said.
