May 13—ImageThe Annual VHS Indians Spring Football Game was held this past Friday night at Buck Cravey Field. The scrimmage game saw the Garnet Team defeat the White Team 28-12.

“ I feel like we are probably as athletic as we have ever been here. We have some great skill kids. The quarterback position I saw a lot of growth this spring that just lends itself to being a part of a great leader. DJ Mincey has really taken ownership and decided that he is going to be the guy that we look to and I am excited about that. We lost a number of guys up front on both sides of the ball, and we have a lot of holes to fill there. We have some guys that are going to have to grow up and step up.” Coach Lee Chomskis said.

“ All in all I am very excited about our kids. We had 85 to finish the spring and that is counting the rising ninth graders the middle school kids that were with us, and that is a great number for double A high school. Some of those 85 aren’t going to be willing to do what we do in the summer because we work very hard. For the most part our kids have bought in and they understand that is part of it. We are looking forward to going to work to see what is going to happen in 2013.” Chomskis said.
