TCHS Baseball Team Suffers First Home Loss
Thursday, 25 April 2013

April 25—The Toombs Co Bulldogs Baseball team is 15-6 overall and 11-5 in the region. The Bulldogs lost their first home game of the year Wednesday to Long Co 5-3. Toombs Co is trying to hand on to the #2 seed in the region with two games left in the regular season.

“What a difference 24 hours makes, you are playing your region rivals Vidalia and the guys were pumped up and focused and played hard. I don’t want to say we let down tonight because we are playing for the #2 seed and host a playoff game, but we made some mistakes and Long Co took advantage of them.” Coach Brian Fitzgerald said.

“ We can finish this out as the #2 seed if we win out starting Friday at home for senior night against Bacon Co. I want to encourage everybody to come out and recognize our five seniors and their efforts and what they have done this year. We look forward to the challenge from Bacon Co because we lost down there earlier this season. We will then get on the bus Saturday morning and head to play the region champs Benedictine, a team we have had some success with this year and see how it goes.” Fitzgerald said.
