March 25--ImageThe VHS Soccer Teams have had a good season this year. The girls are 8-2 and the boys at 7-2 overall. The Indians hosted the Toombs Co Bulldogs Friday at Buck Cravey Field for a region matchup. The Lady Indians defeated the Lady Dogs 5-2. The Toombs Co boys defeated the Vidalia boys by one point in a game that went into penalty kicks.

" Our girls were down early in the game to Toombsand they kept themselves together and fought real hard and were able to come back and get a victory. We are real pleased with the girls work ethics and how hard they work. We have three senior girls and a large group of juniors that whole group work well together and just seem to feed off each other and continue to support each other and that is a big part of a team concept. Our soccer program is not about one person, it's about how we work together. We are successful as a group, not as an individual." Coach William Harn said.

" In the boys game that was the ultimate ending to a soccer match. We were up 2-0 and Toombs Co fought back and got into the match and we went into two overtimes and and finished with pk's. We fell a little bit short in the end but both teams worked hard and I am proud of Vidalia High School boys soccer, they fought hard, kept their heads up and they know they played a good match, we just weren't able to pull it out at the end."Harn said.

The Indians are back in action Tuesday at 5:00pm with a region match at home against the Metter Tigers.
