March 22--VHS Basketball standout junior Ramel Thompkins has been selected  to play in the GACA Junior All-Star Game Saturday, March 23rd at Armstrong Atlantic St. University in Savannah.Thompkins a 6'5" forward averaged 9 points, 4 blocks and 9 rebounds per game. He shot 47% from the floor including 33% from beyond the 3 point line. He had a triple-double against Dublin and 3 double double's this past season.

" He is going to represent us, our team, high school and our city by going down there and playing, it is a great honor and opportunity. This is a state wide game with all classifications. He is going to have his work cutout for him competing at that level, but he will play in the Junior North-South All-Star game at 5:00pm. He is one of those kids who will play hard and give it everything he's got when he is on the court." Coach Tommy Dalley said.

" He was the player of the year in our region and he is up for several other awards that are being mentioned right now and he has a tremendous upside right now and working extemely hard running track and keeping in shape. Ramel is just that type of kid and you want to see him succeed and with his effort and attitude, and the way he approaches things, I think he will be fine." Dalley stated.
