BPC Barons Softball Team
Tuesday, 19 March 2013

March 19--The Brewton-Parker College Barons Softball team is 14-8 so far this season. The Barons have been playing well despite having a young team this year.

" We are ok, we are a very young team this year. We are getting into conference play and picked up two big wins last week over The College of Coastal Georgia in Mt Vernon. We are now 2-2 in the conference. Our pitching has been fairly steady all year, but our hitting has been fluctuating. We are ok sometimes, but then we aren't, due to the fact that we are a young team." Coach Jason Bryant said.

" Senior Marisa Brown from Vidalia has been playing extremely well right now. We moved her up to the two spot where she went three for three in a game. Ashley Garnto is one of our young players who has come up through our system from the JV team is our leadoff hitter and she is second on the team in homeruns. Our system is paying off for her." Bryant said.

" This week is really tough, we are going to Lee University they are 19-1 ranked in the top four or five teams in the country. Faulkner University in Montgomery Alabama is next at 16-2, and then we play Auburn-Montgomery, their record is 18-1 also ranked in the top five in the country. We look forward to competing and hopefully come back with some wins, or if nothing else we will grow up a little bit and understand what it takes to win inside this conference." Bryant said.
