March 15--The VHS boys and girls tennis teams defeated Metter at home Thursday.

Girls won 3-2

#1 singles - Abigail Dixon won 6-2,6-0

#2 singles- Elizabeth Holman lost 6-7, 2-6

#3 singles -Tanisha Bowles took the match to three sets and won 6-1, lost 6-7 (tiebreak went to 9-11), and won 6-2

#1 doubles -Brennan Merritt and Kennedy Wright lost 3-6, 3-6

#2 doubles-Destany Gilchriest and Breanna Spence won 6-4, 6-0

Emily Combs and Taylor Fabacher played an extra set and lost 2-8

The girls are 2-1 in region play.

Boys won 3-2

#1 singles - Julian McCaig won 6-1, 6-1

#2 singles - Travis McCaig lost in three sets: won 6-2, then lost 0-6, 3-6

#3 singles- Trace Calloway won 6-3, 6-2

#1 doubles- William Collins and Austin Davis won in three sets: won 7-6, lost 4-6, won 6-4

#2 doubles- Sterling James and David Roberts lost 2-6, 3-6

Carson Cato played an extra singles match and lost 0-6, 0-6

 The boys are 1-2 in region play.
