Vidalia Onion Festival Parking

March 6-- Organizers of the 36th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival have set April 18-21, 2013 as the dates for this year's celebration of Georgia's State Vegetable in historic Vidalia, Georgia.

Weekend parking passes (unlimited entry) are $40. Friday parking passes (single entry) are $10. Saturday parking passes (single entry) are $25. Sunday parking passes (single entry) are $15. All fees are per car.

New this year, the Vidalia Onion Festival will have a site for people to be dropped off, if they do not want to park.  The charge is $2 per person on Friday, $5 per person on Saturday, and $5 per person on Sunday.  Those who wish to drop off festival attendees need to follow the same traffic flow as others; the drop-off location is located just inside the festival gate.Individuals can be dropped off and vehicles will turn immediately to the left toward the exit.Pick up will be at the same place the individual was dropped off.  All persons must be picked up by 11:00 p.m. on each night.

West Bound festival traffic can turn onto Harris Industrial (single lane) down to Mathews Street and enter the airport entrance.    East bound traffic will turn on McNatt Street (single lane) and cut across Harris Industrial to the Tumi Gate to enter airport grounds.  The Drop-off gate will be the same as the pay gate. 

This year's festivities kick off Thursday, April 18 with the Children's Parade, which begins at 5:30 pm.A free movie for the entire family will be shown on a large outdoor screen downtown at 7:00 pm, and the Gold Medal Carnival at the Vidalia Regional Airport will open on Thursday at 5:00 pm.

Gates at the airport open at 5:00 pm on Friday, April 19.  The official Opening Ceremonies, which include recognition of the Vidalia Onion Queens and Writing Contest winners, local dancers, food, and fun activities for kids of all ages, begins at the Vidalia Regional Airport at 6:00 pm on the 19th. This year's celebration will be capped off by one of the largest displays of fireworks in the Southeast.

Gates at the airport open at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 20, and The Blue Angels program begins at 12:30 pm. Lyons, Georgia-native Craig Campbell, who has had major radio hits with "Family Man," "Fish" and the new "Outta My Mind" single from his upcoming sophomore album will take the stage at 6:00 pm. The legendary Charlie Daniels Band, whose new cd, Hits of the South, was just released, will rock the crowd with such hits as "Devil Went Down To Georgia," "In America," "Long Haired Country Boy," "Simple Man" and others beginning at 8:00 pm.
