March 2-- Members of the public are being asked to attend Tuesday night's meeting of the Lyons City Council. The Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society is on the meeting agenda to protest treatment of animals at the city animal shelter. Society President Therisa Ingley issued an appeal which said: "If the massacre of 77 animals at Lyons Animal Control in Feb of 2011 made you sick. If the thought of animals being neglected by those paid to care for them makes you angry. If you are tired of false promises from politicians, then please attend the Lyons City Council meeting on March 5th at 7 p.m."
