Bleckley Co Upsets Vidalia

February 27--ImageThe Bleckley Co Royals defeated the Vidalia Indians Boys Basketball team 69-67 in front of a big crowd at the H Ralph Parsons Gymnasium Wednesday night in the Elite 8 round of the GHSA State Playoffs. The Indians started out fast and had the lead 18-12 at the end of the 1st quarter. The Royals came back in the 2nd quarter and took a 3 point lead at the half  33-30. In the 3rd quarter both teams played hard with the Royals leading 51-42. Vidalia came back and took the lead in the 4th quarter but Bleckley Co went on a 10-0 run and took the lead and held on to win by 2 points.

The Indians had four players in double figures, Raekwon Reed scored 17 points, Tra Hardy and Deshawn Holloway with 13 points and Ramel Thompkins had 12 points in the loss.

The Indians had a great year with a Region Championship and ending the season with a 29-2 overall record.
